Happy 2012 from PPB.COM!

  • Peter remains super busy in post on THE VORTEX as we head into the new year! The picture is locked (more or less) with one day of pickups scheduled for January 3rd… and then it is all CG, color correct, scoring and fun, fun, fun from there! STAY TUNED!
  • The new SUPERNOVA FILMS INC. website is live. That’s right, you can check it out here and get your first glimpse of THE VORTEX!
  • Did you miss our online screening and Q&A of the short film SPOTLIGHT starring Joe Lando & Eve Mauro? Well, for the month of January you can check it out here or at www.joelando.org exclusively! You do need the password - “screening” - to enjoy the show!

Fall 2011

  • That's a wrap on THE VORTEX which you may have known as its previous title BIG BAD BUGS. The film is the first from Peter Paul Basler and Miguel Muller's production company Supernova Films Inc. The film was directed by Peter and stars Jack Plotnick, Sarah Lieving and Ted Jonas. (Look for pictures, trailer links as well as a link to the new SUPERNOVA FILMS site coming soon.)
  • Check out the new web site and trailer for THE END OF THE INNOCENTS that Peter produced for writer – director Deborah Chesher this past June by clicking here.
  • Our Vimeo page is constantly being updated! Be sure to check out the trailer for the upcoming THE MAN IN THE HAT and the full short HEY VENDOR starring Troy Garity. Both projects are by Sundance award winner Matthew Harrison!
  • BIG BAD BUGS! shoots in October with Peter in the director chair! It promises to be good, campy sci-fi, fun! The film marks the first feature from Peter and Miguel Muller’s new company SUPERNOVA FILMS INC.

Summer 2011

  • That’s a wrap for Peter as First AD on the indie feature BETWEEN US with Julia Stiles and Taye Diggs and directed by Slamdance founder Dan Mirvish!
  • That is also a wrap on the indie short END OF THE INNOCENTS that Peter produced for writer-director Deborah Chesher. Want to learn more about this project? Click here to check out the awesome kickstarter page that Deborah created.
  • In the interim, the feature MOTHER’S LITTLE HELPERS, now retitled COUGARS INC. is out everywhere! Rent yours at a Blockbuster or Redbox near you! Peter served as Production Coordinator on this film.
  • Check it out. Our “Photo Of The Month” has now become our “Image Gallery” and includes pictures from “One April Night of Short Films”… as promised!
  • It is hard to believe that 10 years ago Peter was in pre-production on his first feature JUST ADD PEPPER!?! In fact principal photography started August 20, 2001. And just what impact has our little film made in the last decade? Read this.

Spring 2011

  • That’s a wrap on TAG! The shooting went well with a pickup shot (or two) still to come. The film stars Christopher Mintz-Plasse of SUPERBAD fame and Scout Taylor Compton of the new Rob Zombie HALLOWEEN films.
  • “One April Night of Short Films” was a smashing success in downtown Los Angeles… YES! Pictures of the event will be posted soon, but first…
  • Peter has just signed on as First Assistant Director on the independent feature film BETWEEN US for Director Dan Mirvish. The film stars Julia Stiles, Taye Diggs, Melissa George and David Harbour!
  • Hey, check out the hilarious spoof MAKING OF SPOTLIGHT by Cary Anderson on FUNNY OR DIE! Here’s the link.
  • And everything old is new again! Peter will be working on a retrospective doc on the making of the film OF LOVE & FANTASY starring Betty Buckley, Shea Whigam, Amy Redford, Linda Taylor and Wade Kirby for writer/director Ken Waddell. So, here are 2 previous “Making Ofs” that Peter shot and directed (on our featurettes page) and YES, the SEA OF DUST one is not complete… to see the whole thing you have to buy or rent the DVD… (sorry!)
  • Peter works as producer on the Game Show pilot GOOD SPORTS! It is a sports based game show for kids… never work with kids or dogs!?!
  • The screening “One April Night of Short Films” is now officially set for Saturday April 16th in downtown Los Angeles at the Downtown Independent Theater. Click here for the flyer link!
  • Peter is acting as 1st AD and Co-Producer on the feature film TAG for Danny Roth. The film shoots from March into April! More info to come…
  • OF LOVE & FANTASY, a romantic comedy starring Betty Buckley, Shea Whigam, Amy Redford, Linda Taylor and Wade Kirby - written and directed by Ken Waddell is finally going to get a re-release! More details to come as Peter works with the producers on retrospective documentary and avenues for DVD and/or VOD release!
